Im guessing my once i pay for my plane tickets/railpasses etc i will have around $15000 to spend. This hopefully will be ok, ive budgeted for $8000 of that for 90 days in europe, but will probably spend more than that cuz i loooooooooove alcamahol too much. The rest will set me up when i get back to london to get a place, and find some work, save up then head over to canada...

Rock on...

Leeroy,

I fly out of Sydney for Athens in 1 month and plan to budget around $100 a day at the most. I reckon I can do it for $75 and maybe some days for around $50 depending on what I'm doing. I'll have a rail pass so the accommodation will be the big money eater and as you say alcamahol tends to eat into any budget.

Guess only time will tell how much you'll spend.

yeah, i hear that...

seriously, how much and for how long do you think greece will be affected by the olmpics... Like, i know it will be a good thing, but in a way im kinda annoyed that they are on. Everyone will be there, and its going to be sooo busy, and perhaps more expensive. I think i will be in and around the greek islands late july.

Not relying on a eurail pass... well i dont think anyways. Going to use busabout a bit, and the rest just point to points... The way i work it is that it will come out pretty much the same. I hope.

Thats one of the main reasons I'm going to Greece first. Imagine how huge the crowds are gonna be in Athens the closer to the time of Olympics...gonna be insane.

I've gone the Eurail so i dont have to worry about outlaying for the cost of travel once i'm there. The way i figure it, this way my only major expense is going to be the accommodation and I don't have to worry about the money for getting around.

them be aussie dollars CD...

i have to budget a little more cuz im buying a few days busabout b4 i leave, but the rest of my travel im just going to pay for as i go. Its just too unpredictable what i will end up doing. So, if i ended up just doing a few places, i would be cut as, cuz i would have wasted this great eurail pass... Busabout was only like $500 for 8 days of travel throughout the whole season, 2 of which ill use for ocktober fest anyways
