Sounds pretty good as long as most transportation is separate and you plan on eating grocery food a lot.

I agree....if you are going to be cooking that will save a lot of money. And you will make new friends in the hostel as well. The kitchens are great places to meet people.

that's pretty good!! if you're not a drinking that will def. help and making your own food is always better and more healthy anyway, at least you know what's in your food, plus it's relaxing and will keep you inside for a bit instead of eating out and spending more $$ while you're out and about

35 euros a day after hostels sounds ok, you'll have to keep a close eye on your spendings though.

That will be ok if you only go out now and then. That is my plan once I hit the EU in Sept. I will be on a tight budget myself. It is doable. Just have a credit card handy just in case.
