Do you actually make good money doing this?

I'm not talking about 1 or 2 items here and there, but a regular cashflow system that's been working for you, where you derive a healthy supplemental income from.

I am asking because maybe we can have some designated experts on here that can help others get started and do the same to help finance their trips.

You know, show them the ropes and answer questions they might have.

I don't anymore, but have in the past. When Jake and I got engaged, my dad was insistent that they help pay for most of our wedding (I was shocked honestly). They don't like to use credit cards, so thought eBay would be a good way to bring in some income. My dad went to auctions and would bring home TONS of stuff, we'd sort it, list it and ship it. We did this kind of stuff for awhile. Jake and I moved further away and I think my parents lost the energy to keep it up, but, well, I think I could offer a lot about selling on eBay. I've also done a lot of purchasing, so I have experience from both ends. Also did dabble is stuff similar to drop shipping and what not.

I purchased some thing to resell on eBay and included was a wholesale list for purchasing designer items. I resold THAT on eBay and made some extra $$. When it comes to that kind of stuff though, it gets a little tricky....

Anywho, I'll stop rambling now.

There's tons of folks that do this. If you can track down a wholesale account for anything, the supplemental income can be huge. Especially if you work with a supplier that drop ships. Then, you have zero inventory and little responsibility for the product.

Currently I'm selling some DVDs and the infamous Brown Bamboo, and as I get around to it, other stuff. But its ahobby only for me.

The answer to your question is yes, most definitely. It is what i do for a living, however i don't make good money off it, but my boss sure as fuck does...bastard...We sell shit through his online listing company www.ezlister.net and we sell mostly older computer products but we'll sell anything from China, to dolls to phones to computers to whatever. You can make a shit load, but it takes time u know? I don't know if you have specific questions message me.

I've helped a few local businesses to get set up on eBay and thus increase their exposure and sales. As for making money from it, you can definately do it as long as you spend enough time at it, if you are selling something very unique or you can purchase products for cheap (wholesale) and sell them higher. If you organize it well the inventory and shipping isn't that bad and sites like PayPal really help with the money transfers.

I use it mostly as a hobby to liquidate flea market/garage sale-type stuff that I don't want anymore. But am too lazy to actually hold a garage sale and there's no Craigslist in my area. So, I don't really use it to make money per se - but more to cut my losses by getting a lil' something back for stuff I don't want anymore.

i sell stuff on ebay. there is definately money to be made out there but in order to start making alot of money u have to have a reliable supplier. wholesale or something. i mostly sell vintage clothing and occasionally some new high end clothing, armani exchange, seven, diesel, etc.

i'd like to get more into it, and im trying to get into it a little more, but its not like a 5 minute make a lot of money deal. it takes a lot of time and can be frustrating.

I do ebay a fair amount. I usually sell electronics and computer parts which are always easy to move. I have noticed a lot of dot com's also sell on ebay to get there name out. They post a few items and say "check out our site."

I also notice that a lot of cheap imported cell phones, computer parts, etc get sold from warehouses here in the USA. Its a good business to be in but the bank roll you need to have inventory is a bit much.

Personally I resell electronics as I replace them. I have a digital camera up right now since I got a new one. I do the same with laptops and the like.

Good luck.
