I had huge issues with Limewire, and if they tell you it's spyware free double check that. :| Evilness.

I'm all about the soulseek and bittorrent.
But! I have reasons for this. If I were to just want one song of an artist, I'd use something like Limewire... (frankly I'm afraid to have either Limewire or KaZaA on my comptuer due to spyware and the like), but since I'm obsessive and I refuse to have things as such, I need whole albums at a time. That's where soulseek and bittorrent come in handy. With soulseek, it's nice enough to sort it to where you can see the albums nice and orgainized.

you can get k++ or kazaalite resurrection which have no spyware.

that place is THE torrent site for music. I used to have an account but got banned for not shraing... i didnt get a chance, nobody downloaded anything from me. grrr

i know these are free,i think,um for single tracks,personally i use torrents,i use isohunt and pirate bay and some sites that are kinda game music,more final fantasy,dragon quest,zelda,if you want to kno then uh,just say,also if you kno the right people who kno some peopler you may be able to get stuff from peeps ftps,speak to people in some irc's,they'll get you the right stuff,dont bother askin me,cos i was speakin to my mate earlier on,and well lets just say hes not speakin,hope i helped,if not,darn it,catch ya later

i use Ares. if u get the lite version its adware/spyware free so your not plagued with pop-ups and its pretty good. i cant always find 100% of the stuff im looking for but i am occasionaly searching for some obscure not totally popular stuff so i guess that is to be expected.

i still cant help but miss the old days of free old school napster though.

I'm a LimeWire-ite. Works great for me, even though lots of people seem to have problems with it. I've found lots of great non-music with it, too. *Insert Microsoft Word 2003 document containing Photoshopped Picture and linked to a Macromedia Flash website.* Not that I condone using pirated software.

My buddy and I had WinMX for a while. He got rid of it because some folks using it in the UK had been caught and fined. WinMX was awesome though. I saw on the news that bit torrents are the way to go now.

I do have to note that usually I really like one or 2 songs from an artist and don't want the whole album. I only have SO MUCH HD space lately.

That's the downside of torrents is the huge files I don't have room for anymore. I guess this signals time for an upgrade. Geesh, my computer is only 5 years old, what gives?

I use Limewire, but only when I'm home from uni. Living on campus means that any file sharing programs are blocked, which is a shame!

Sorry to hijack the thread but...

It seems like most of you use limewire. My questions are: is it leagal? and how do you transfer limewire songs/files into Itunes? I'm an idiot

i use bearshare lite but i still need like 3848 programs to remove all the crap from my computer.
but theres loads of music and movies to find, good quality and fast downloading
