i havent had a problem charging things up in hostels , but just be careful cos have heard a few horror stories where the batteries and chargers have gone missing, might be worth asking at the reception desk if they would mind charging it for you

Most hostels will have a couple of outlets in dorm rooms. But you are taking a risk leaving anything unattended. Get in good with the staff and they should help you find a more secure place to charge up. Better to charge at night when your around.

i leave my shit charging all the time in the dorm rooms and haven't had a problem, although, that is to say yet i guess. only one hostel didn't have, i think kabul's in barcelona, and there you could just leave it at the desk and they'd plug it in for you. if i am suspect i guess i lock the item in my bag and just run the cord out, but thats as far as i've gone security wise.
