Yeah i was just wondering cause it looks like I am going to be picking up either the d50 or the d40 here in a week or two. So I was looking for some pointers on the Nikon and whether or not she was diggin it.

I also need to know how well the lens that comes with it works or if i should opt for just the body and pick up a different lens instead.

That part I can answer: Body only. The lens is pretty much, well, meh. Check out the reviews at dcresource.com or stevesdigicams.com or dpreview.com. I'm pretty sure they all say the same thing about the lens.

If I were going to buy a Nikon it'd be a d50...but I'm a Canon fan.
the kit lens on the Nikon is pretty good actually.

the bigger the memory card the more pictures you can get...and as for making a career of it check out http://hallmark.edu/ they have one of the BEST programs in the US. i was suppose to start there this past fall but it was either school or a concert in england... and well england won and i got some great shots from the concert.
