Ive read good things about the iRiver H10. I own the earlier version called the H120 and its been a great MP3 player for 2 years of continous use. Main advantage over an iPod is that it allows for drag and drop loading of music rather than having to go through a program like iTunes.

yeah I think that most Mp3 players other than the Ipod allow drag and drop file transefer.

I use my PSP which is great cause it has the ability to play full length movies and uhh something else oh yeah games... great for long flights or anywhere

I like the 4g Iriver... no relation to the IPOD and not as expensive

pretty generic, but i like the ipod. granted some other mp3 players may have more features or may be significantly cheaper, but i havent had any problems with the ipod and the software is good. and actually in my experience good software is worth even more than a good mp3 player itself.

but one of the main reasons i like the ipod is that the whole world is falling on the ipod bandwagon. whether good or bad, it is true and that means that there are countless accessories geared specifically for your mp3 player, which is nice.

although, i would immediately ditch the ipod headphones. they suck. i think its funny that the whole world is spending 300 dollars on an mp3 player then listening to it on 10 cent headphones.

Hahaha.. yeah. Well, Apple's making friends in the headphone business, I guess. Not to mention the accessories market! They've done a great job of creating a whole segment for the economy.

I'm an iPod devotee myself and wouldn't use any other MP3 player. However, if I was forced to look at alternatives, I'd probably get the Archos multimedia player. It has loads of space, does video, and can also download photos/other data from your camera's memory cards, which is always a plus. I have a couple of friends that have them and are very happy... despite the ugly design, but hey, functionality is good!
