Some help from all you computer people, please!

Hi all, i have a DVD burner on my computer so i wanted to know how do i save a dvd onto my hard drive so that i can burn it off?. I have windows XP but i can't seem to find a program that will let me do it.

All help and knowledge will be welcomed gladly!

There are a number of apps out there to rip DVDs.. I think the most popular is DVD X Copy, but since I don't use Windows, I can't vouch for it...

If you want to burn full-length movie DVDs, though, you need a dual-layer DVD burner and dual-layer blanks... a standard DVD burner won't make exact copies of commercial DVDs.

Dvd x copy is no longer made
If you can find it, dvd shrink is probably the most used right now.
Also you can burn to single layer dvds using dvdshrink. The program actually allows you to discard any extras that you don't need. Let's say for instance,
You want to get rid of subtitles, alternate audio tracks,etc this will allow you to still have room for your movie. I wish I could provide a link but because of copyright laws you'll have to search around for it.

Ah, so i would be better off downloading the movies then burning them off, see i get movies posted to me and i thought i could copy them but seems like i can't, ah well thanks anyway
