I should probably be putting this in the Dumb Questions thread.
I have a pretty good sense of direction, haven't gotten myself lost yet, just the occasional scenic detour. But when I see posts where people have a hard time finding the entrance to their hostel and I think of winding, narrow streets with landmarks and street signs in a foreign language; I think maybe a gps would be handy. Or would walking down the street with a $200 electronic map in your hand scream 'rich tourist, please mug me'
