Ok...so I suck at technology.
I just got a digital camera and I barely know how to work it, but that is besides the point. What I am wondering is if I can save the pictures from the memory card on to CD's while using the computers in iternet cafes? Can you actually get on to programs at the cafes or only use the internet? Has anyone had experience at doing this, or any tips? I just don't want to drop a ton of money on a large memory card. Leaving in 4 days. Thanks so much :wine: |

you won't beable to download at internet cafes without the software, but if you go to a good photo shop, you should beable to down load straight from the memory card onto CD. What I have for my current trip is 2x 256MB memory cards and 3 sets of rechargable batteries. Where is it you are travelling? |
I didn't have any problems finding internet cafe's that could take my memory card and download the images to a CD. It's pretty common and not too expensive, maybe around 10 euros including the price of the cd, more or less. You'll be fine, don't worry about it! :) But try to bring enough memory so that you don't have to dump your images every other day. What kind of camera did you get and how much memory do you have?

If your visiting countires in Western Europe, Australia, or North America, Japan etc.....most photo labs now have stand alone digi photo center that will let you print off your pics of save them to a different media just by inserting the mem card.

Laura finding internet PC places can be a hassel, i suggest you spend around 200 dollars and buy yourself a portable Flash card cd burner. I used on on my trip it was phenominal. MicroSolutions makes a great one called the RoadStor.

Thank you everyone for all of your help and suggestions.
naj131- I am flying into Barcelona then going to the French riviera, up to Switzerland, down into Italy, hopefully to Corfu for a few days then back to Spain (Madrid, Costa del Sol, and Alicante), then home. Space virgin- I have an Olympus camera. Other than that I am not quite sure. Like I said I am pretty bad with this stuff. But I am pretty sure that my memory card holds either 200 or 250 images.
