I am going to europe and need a good Digital camera! I went to my local Walmart and they all looked pretty cheezy! I thought someone might know of a good digital camera that is a reasanable price! Like $250 tops! Thanks And Peace Dayton

I recommend the canon a series. my first digital was an a10 and it was awesome. and a70 or a 80 would do you good.I currently use a minolta dimage 7hi, but that wouldn't be any good for the casual photo taker.

d fresh is right, canon makes great cameras. I have an A60, which is completely identical to the a70 except it's only 2mp (yeah, that's not very much, but I was totally broke and needed a decent camera.) That thing was fantastic for my 5-week trip! All of my photos are beautiful, even the night shots I took-- without a tripod, no less. It was $180 or so plus tax.

What a great thread! Cannons all the way!

I have the a80 and I love it! It is a bit pricey though...so it all depends on what your funds are like.

You can get an a70 for pretty cheap now b\c Cannon is starting to push the newer a80. So keep your eyes opened for sales

FYI:
I just got a Fuji Finpic A210 from Amazon.com for my 3 month trip around Europe. I chose this camera because it was 3.2MP and most importantly NOT EXPENSIVE ($130) with free shipping. I didnt want to be worried about breaking a brand new 400 dollar digi cam on my trip. I also got an extra 128MB xD memory card for about 45 dollars at the same time. With this card i can take over 160 3MP pics, over 200 2MP pics or over 270 1MP pics depending on what setting i put it on.
Hope this helps someone.
Andy
