Czech Republic
 

The Czech Republic's electric sockets are mostly 220v and take 2 round pin plugs.

Argentina
 

Electricity in Argentina is 220 Volts, alternating at 50 cycles per second. If you travel to Argentina with a device that does not accept 220 Volts at 50 Hertz, you will need a voltage converter.

Outlets in Argentina generally accept 1 type of plug:

Okay, I've seen some contradictions with what I posted about the Czech Rep and what it says on that site. Anyone know if they use either 230 or 220 V?




Okay, I looked some more and it's 230V. That site you posted Hewsinator is great!!

Anything that uses 220-240v will work in any country using that range (providing the frequency is also correct) as the supply can vary by +/-10% anyway and appliances have to be designed to cope with this.

In Europe, the UK used to use 240v while the rest of the EU used to be on 220v, but they all now use 230v in order to harmonise their voltages, with no effect on appliances.

India uses god only knows what. I think pretty much anything is guaranteed to work at least 30% of the time and you should always plan for the power to go out anyway. :rolleyes:

Hot tip I learned there: You can wire just about anything to run off of old, used car batteries. TVs, satellite dishes, bashed up radios, airport baggage claim carousels, other mysterious contraptions...

SV, I have always wanted to visit India, and you make it sound so interesting that everytime I read one of your posts (even if it IS about jerry-rigging things to old car batteries) I just want to go more and more! I'm super jealous of the trip you went on.:P
