Simple Answer.... YES.... think about it... an item that retails at $399 USD do you really think that you can get it for only 100 dollars? Well their are plenty of people being scammed on Ebay by these.... Con Artists, and it's not only Ipods but TV's Laptops, CAmeras. The way that it works is that they lure you in with a very low price and it is only a 1 day listing. So you bid or click the buy now button and then you have entered into a "legal" binding to buy this is a nice littel quote from one such scammer: "Winner must confirm payment within 3 days, All Non-Paying Bidders will be reported to eBay. Bidding on eBay is a binding contract, Please do not bid if you do not intend to honor your bid. Not honoring a bid could lead to suspension from eBay. It can also ruin your credit report" Teh payment is the best part of the scam, Paypal right? no?? well then they need a credit card? huhh no? They want you to wire money from western union with absolutly no paper trail? BINGO yeah that really should have been your first clue but they don't tell you this information up front. you just got to look for the signs. **clears throat**

Okay teh simple signs of Ebay Fraud

#1 Is the price too good to be true? 75 5 savings is WAY too good to be true
#2 Is the Duration a 1-day listing?
#3 Is the seller located in one country but hawking his wares in a different currency? i.e. located in the US and selling in Euros
#4 Does the seller have some strange shipping method you may have no clue what is? i.e. EMS SDS Courier
#5 What is the payment method? Remember: Is it traceable and is there proof of payment? How secure is it? What is the liability coverage in case something goes wrong? Well if no payment method is selected (Other - See Payment Instructions for payment methods accepted) then that should set up a red flag immediattly.

Hope this helped and happing ebaying.... errr stuff

If you have a question about a questionable bid. don't bid untill you have a second opinion. Post it here ask us.

This is a good warning to put out there, adam - sometimes that drean of the perfect deal clouds people's judgement so it's good to have some solid tips of what to look for to avoid a scam.

I think we've only ever once bought something on ebay - a toner cartridge, how boring - and it worked out okay, but I'm a tad leery of the whole system anyway. It was helpful in convincing my husband that my kimono and obi collection is worth more than I paid for it, but it just increased his desire for me to sell it!
