Do they make electric razors that accept both 110v and 220v, without a big adaptor? My trusty old Norelco has broken, and I'll need a new one that works on 220v for my extended travels. Any recommendations?

I have a newish Norelco that I picked up before deployment that the regular cord works with both 110 and 220. It isn't to big, everything fits in that little case provided. Doesn't take up anymore space than a razor and a can of shaving creme would. I can't remember what kind it is. It was only like $90 including and extra set of blades. I picked it up at Wal-mart, and I remember when I was looking I think most worked in both 110 and 220. Hope this helps...

My bottom-of-the-line Norelco ($39.95) rechargeable is universal voltage, and it takes a generic power cord (mine comes with a coiled one) It works decent and lasts several shaves on one charge. I have a small rotary-head battery operated one that works just as well for 1/4th the price, even.

Found with the rotary shavers, they work best if you lubricate the heads from time to time (Remington's 'Shaver Saver' works great!) Since I shave my head with the darned thing, taking care of the darn thing matters...

I think pretty much all Norelco and Braun electrics made in the last decade have universal voltage.

Personally, I just use plain ol' manual razors. I keep getting electrics as gifts, and I wind up re-gifting them. I think my parents finally got the message and stopped a couple of years ago. If I had one lying around, I'd send it to ya!

Thanks, I appreciate the input. I can't really get to a store here and the online sites aren't too informative. I didn't realize that most razors are dual voltage, I guess my old razor was the one that wasn't. The dual voltage adaptors I've seen are all kinda large, but I guess you're right that its still no bigger than a can of shaving cream.

A little plastic piece broke in my old 110v Norelco, it still works but it sounds like the little doohiky that connects to the blade is grinding so its only a matter of time til it dies anyways.
