Hey guys and gals I need some help. I am looking at doing some sort of Habitat for Humanity project. What I am really interested in is spending 6 months to a year in Africa building orphanages due to the Aids epidemic. I’m really enthusiastic about the idea. Any one out there got any tips that they could send my way that would be so great. Thanks so much. Aaron

You have several options. Orgs like the Peace Corps or the UN and such, though they usually want a longer commitment, but they also pay for everything. Then there are orgs that you pay them and its more like a working holiday. Usually its cheap enough and a great experience. Or you can get a job working for a non-profit. I've done that route several times and it has worked out well for me. Its hard to find the jobs, but well worth it. Often you can also volunteer through religious orgs even if you aren't religious.
