I plan on doing a full on european travel at the end of summer '06/beginning of fall. The problem is that between now and then, I can only save soo much money. I'm thinking picking some guitar and singing some songs would be a decent way to pull in some spare cash.
How much money have you tpunker's seen buskers pulling in on average? How about street musicians that seriously kick ass!? Also, what kinda stuff do you think folks over there would like? I was thinking the blues might grab attention and pull in some cash. Maybe country. I think music that plays on the fact I'm american might make me more money than copying the local styles. I also think taking a guitar would be a kick ass way of meeting other folks. Besides, I play/sing 2-3hrs. a day and can't see spending a few months without one. Maybe I could atleast try to play joints at night for free drinks  . Any other Tpunker's out there do it, or seen it done? ,Will |
It's about as much of a crapshoot as it is here in the US-- you could, say, make quite a bit of cash in Paris one day, but three days later in Barcelona you may be completely assed out. It really just depends on the location, weather, time of day, air temperature, your looks and aura of general cleanliness (or lack thereof), whether or not some butterfuly in China flapped their wings in a certain direction, and who your audience is. Good luck though!
