Question

OK guys I am strongly considering getting my MBA at Schiller International University in Heidelberg, Germany. The web address for the school is http://www.schiller.edu . I like what I see on the site and here is my plan of action:

Take some of the classes online before I go to save money. Then I would leave in Jan '07 go for spring term, summer off to backpack, then fall '07 to finish. I would want to work somewhere in Germany while in school to earn some extra money for partying, weekend trips, and whatnot. I am looking for any and all suggestions on where to work/how to find jobs. I will be saving money before I go but I want to not have to use that money if I don't have too. Ideas?

Thanks,

foofiter

I was actually wondering about Schiller, I wanted to go to the Madrid one, but their website was sketchy and bad and it just looked like a year abroad kind of thing. Do you know anything about it?

About work, I'm not sure if this applies to Germany, but with the UK and France at least you're allowed to work a certain amount of hours per week with a student visa, and I'm guessing it's the same with Germany.

Schiller has some good info on their site you have to dig tho. I found that each seperate campus has its own site and they generally have a lot more info on them. The Germany site has the most. And its just not a year abroad. They offer Associate's, Bachelor's, and MBA's too. Check the Germany site for more info on the Programs. I was also looking at Madrid but they don't have student dorms and Germany is more centrel for weekend trips! I did a 2 week study abroad with them through my University here in Atlanta and I liked Schiller. All US Financial Aid can be used for any of the campuses since it is a US based school. Dig thru their other sites and you will find most of the info you are looking for. You can also call them at their Tampa, FL campus.

Keep the ideas coming guys!

Hmm. interesting.

My boss told me I should get an MBA through Heriot-Watt/Edinburgh university - they have a distance learning program, and then I could have an US/UK-certified MBA - an easier road to getting a work visa over there if I choose to go that route. Seems like a good idea - http://www.ebsmba.com/

Most of the colleges grant some. And I hear there's a US government grant for going to college overseas, havent confirmed that though.
