And also talk about bad things.

So I'm thinking of doing a summer semester in Buenos Aries, Argentia (forgive if spellings wrong...I'm tired). It's with the Lexia program - I don't have the web address in front of me but it's through my school so no worries there. I'd be doing the program next summer, 2006. And it runs June 23rd through Aug 13th...or something of that nature...7 weeks. Costs $6750 (i think) and that DOESNT include airfare. It sounds like a good curriculm...lots of community service related classes and 60-70 hours of language training (which I need!). So basically it comes down to if my school can front come $$ to cover or if I can find some other way. Yup. Any ideas/questions/comments? Actually this wasn't really advice more of me telling to get your approval...I LOVE YOU GUYS! Ok back to library time.

If you can do it GO FOR IT! That's what school loans are for! lol How comparable to your tuition / school costs here is that? A ticket will probably run you another 600-1200 depending.

Hell yeah...GOOOO!!!!!!! Although, You might wanna look at other programs, because i was supposed to be in Barcelona for a year (long story about why i didn't go) and it was going to cost me about 6,500 a semester and that included everything over including living expenses and food and a family to stay with. So just look around before you decide that that is the one. Maybe Buenos Aires is more expensive??
P.S. Jake it's MUY bonita!!

please excuse Jake, he only speaks Portugese now.

Other than that, I'd say get the fuck out of here. Sorry for the language but if you have an opportunity to travel WHILE continuing your education, GO FOR IT!!! Shit, you have nothing to lose except ignorance. Rock on.

Go for it. If you are getting financial aid, talk to them and see what they can do. Also, I am planning a trip for next year down to SA(Peru, Chile, and Argentina) and Buenos Aires is one of my stops. I think though I will be leaving about the 25th of June from BA.

Thanks guys! I am looking at other programs but I always go back to the BA one. Just holds my interest. They have programs in London, Paris, Venice, Rome, Praque, Berlin, Krakow, Shanghai, Budapest, Cape Town and Chiang Mai. The most expensive are all the Europian sites and the cheapest are the Asian ones. Basically in all places I have 60 hours of language training...except in the Asian sites...which is 90-120 depending on which one. So I figure I have a hard enough time with English and the high school Spanish I know, lol, so I'm sticking to either Cape Town, Buenos Aires, Berlin or Krakow. Mainly because I've done the Europe thing and I'll be in London my junior year for school anyway. (My school basically requires you to go to the English campus) My semester tutition is $6000 so it's not that big of a change.

I'm meeting with the Study Abroad rep at school when my break is over. So if he says my aid can be used I may go this summer (deadline for applications is April 15). So we shall see. Luckly the semester doesnt start until after Bonnaroo, hehe.

Your going to Bonaroo? That is just a little too expensive for me. But I live in Birmingham which is like 3 hours away from Manchester, TN. Have fun.
