Hey all,

Pretty much what the topic and title says.

I am in NZ, and the NZ Bunac is called IEP, and they do working holiday organization (as im sure you all know)
But what I want to know is do they actually help you find a job, or am i best to just do the leg work myself? they charge almost $1000 NZD for cheaper tickets, one night in a hostel etc... and help finding a job, i just dont wanna get over there and never find a job.
anyone have any experience with bunac?

thanks alot

If I were a commonwealther like you I'd probably just apply directly for a visa. You have 2 years to figure out a proper job so you can be a little pickier.

Unfortunately, in this case anyway, I'm an American and am past my schooling days. Though I am thinking about going to a junior college this fall to take some classes that I'd like to take anyway and hopefully that'll qualify me for BUNAC so that I can go work over there for 6 months in MAy-ish. Anywho, if anyone knows about BUNAC's stipulations regarding their eligibility requirements I'd love to know. I saw the site and they say you have to be taking 8 units(which I would be) towards a degree(which they have no way of verifying). I assume that they wouldn't completely screw all junior collegers so I think it should work out okay but I need to do some more research.

I already have a BA, I just want to be able to work in the UK.

Help me Steph!!

Jason

Dude, I am here from america on a bunac, and I couldnt be better. I landed a job my first day (dumb luck really). You're from NZ though (I love Kiwis!), so just apply for the 2 year working holiday visa. Really. Its not too hard to find work if you are (sorry its the truth) attractive, well-spoken, nicely dressed, confident and just act like you own the place.. I know people like that who've gotten jobs in a matter of a weekend. I know others who have been here for months and months and are handing out flyers.

Bunac is good for the bank account and the postal address and resources they provide, but actual job finding is better over the internet through websites like gumtree.com. Bunac doesnt help you find a job, its stilla good deal though. I curretnyl sell paintball tickets in London, which doesnt require a work visa even though I have one.
