smaller pubs will require a lot less,
depending on where you are (london might be hard to find somewhere that covers the rent) but there are plenty of citys that might be easyer as the rent is alot lower

Do you need any experience to tend bar in London or are they willing to do on the job training? Does beer consumption count towards partial exerience?

I'm going to be living in London pretty soon and I really want to try and find a bartending job between IT contracts. Any info or past experiences would be greatly appreciated.

You should be able to find a job in a pub if you have worked in any job for a few months, no experience is necessary but would be a VERY good idea to have a CV with past jobs on and say in the interview you are good with people / customers. I don’t think it should be that hard to get a job but i have not tried in London

Oh and a food hygine cetificate is good as it means they dont have to teach it to you, but in practice most places will never teach it to you anyway
