VOLUNTEER opportunities? suggestions/advice pls!
can anyone recommend any national organizations that are great to volunteer at (soi can look up the local LA chapter)? I'm not sure where to start, theres so much out there!
Im looking for a personal recommendation from anyone who's volunteered and really respected the organization and enjoyed their time. I'm currently doing the humane society, but looking for something else as well. i was thinking habitat for humanity but i cant find any local projects.

Honestly, I have this book about volunteering abroad and it's really very comprehensive. It is basically a list of all the organizations, the requirements, the costs and benefits, any reviews of it, if it's associated with any church/religious group, etc. You can even look in the index, they have it sorted by type of work, how long you want to volunteer, what countries, etc. I definately recommend it if you want to volunteer abroad.
