Default Will you be in any REALLY poor areas?

Part of my RTW will be humanitarian. I am trying to set up a training program to bring skills to women in some very poor areas. I would like to teach them how to draft clothing patterns so that they can easily make clothing and work together as a co-op to sell to buyers rather than being taken advantage of by big companies who will pay them penny wages.

I need some REALLY basic research done though so if you are passing through a very poor area and have a little bit of free time I would really appreciate it if you can find out if there is a local fabric source. This could be a factory, it could be sheep farmers who make their own wool, etc. If there is could you please find out how much the fabric costs. Best to ask local women if you can find any that you can communicate with because if you ask merchants they will give you a different price.

Essentially I want to know if women in really poor areas have access to a textile of some sort. Unfortunately I can really only run this project in areas that do.

I've cross-posted this in a couple other country forums, I hope that is okay. I am wanting to run this project in many countries.

I'd be quite interested in knowing more about this project as i'll be travelling through remote areas of western siberia and the Altay later this year. Are your working with a charity? Or is this project under your own steam?

Which regions do you have specific interest in?

Just replying here as well as your PM so that others who have the same questions can see...

Right now it is all just an idea but after I do some basic research I will be approaching organizations. I am open to working with them or on my own but will approach them regardless for their opinions and suggestions.

I don't yet know if this is feasible but if it is I would really like to help!
