I was wondering if anybody could help me out with this question.

I have already been approved for a work visa in which I have to be in Australia before October 29th 2008, now I just got a new job that is a 13 month contract and will not make into Australia for the date I need to before the visa expires. Now if this visa expires willl there be a problem when I apply 4 or 5 months later say in March?

I would go before the visa expires. I looked into a work visa for Australia and it isn't easy for an American to get one. Since you are a Canadian and part of the British Commonwealth it is probably a lot easier to get one. I would call the Australian consulate.

Thanks again for everybody's input, the people from the Australian high commision told me as long as I do not use the visa to enter Australia and it expires I can apply the day after it expires.
