U.S. Citizens Working In EU - TravelPUNK Backpacker College Student Budget Travel Message Boards!

I have been poking around the internet looking for references about working in the EU. I know from previous research there is a lot of red tape and beaucratic B.S. to legally work across the pond. But this time around it seems almost impossible to find anything. Most sites I find are either for U.K. citizens, or are no longer operable sites.

Just looking to see if anyone has any websites or references for this. Even under the table gigs. I know there is the old method of showing up and asking around. But looking perhaps for something a little in advance.

I think the best is to contact the embassy/consulate of the country you want to in. They should be able to provide you all the informations you need.

Or try expatriates website and ask around. I found one for you, but I'm sure there's more : American expats in UK

What kind of work are you trying to get into in EU Rob?

(and hey, don't feel too bad....Your lovely country makes it very hard to us Canadians to work there too!)

Came across this one when I googled European work visa.

It looks like it gives basic info but in the end you have to contact the embasy.

Having some sort of skilled job especially in the medical field would fast track your aplication.

Not sure if you are in school, or planning to be in school, but Bunac is pretty good if you want to work in the UK.

I'm not in school, might be in school. But actually I was just looking for a broad list to help anyone looking.

As far as personal preferences, I want work that will get me where I want to go. So room, board, cash, whatever. I will pretty much do anything.

There's a book I have - but sadly haven't delved much into - called "How to Get a Job in Europe" - When I first thumbed through it, seemed like there was a wealth of information. Speaking of which, I've gotta dig that mofo up...
