I am looking to work in the UK after the first month of travelling around Europe, However it seems everyones requirements for a visa include the following: Be of the commenwealth, have a British grandparent, and/or be a student under 27........Sadly, I am non of the above...any other options for me?

You know what, the hell with it. I'll find work somewhere with out the Visa...maybe in Brussels, maybe in A-dam? The point of this whole thing is to wing it. That's what i'll have to do. Freedom comes without paperwork and schedules.

FYI (even though this won't help u craig) to anyone out there. The working holiday program in the UK underwent some changes last year. The maximum age for a visa is now 30 instead of 27. They also implemented some other changes. Though sadly u still need to be part of the commonwealth to take advantage of the program (sorry craig!)

Well I believe the only option would be to find someone in the UK who could make you fake papers saying you are a citizen of the commonewealth, and just assume a fake alias. But I don't think that idea would quite be worth it just to work for a little bit.

I would assume the best chance to find work would be under the table jobs. Perhaps working in a kitchen or some warehouse work or something of the sort in which you might be able to get away with working for a week or two for cash. Just need the people skills.

Yup definately try to get a cash in hand job. My australian friend is actually in the U.S right now working at two "under the table" jobs. And one job is at a big US chain restaurant. So it happens! You just have to be persistent and slightly charming.
