My husband and I are planning a trip to Brazil because we read what TP wrote about this exotic country. We know you have a fiancée from Fortaleza and we'd like more informations about the city and how we could have fun there. Can you help us? Have you been there? Does your fiancée still live there? We think Fortaleza is the perfect place for us! We want to visit Salvador-Bahia and Recife-Pernambuco too. What do you think?

f&s-p

maybe just describe for him what would make a destination perfect for you.
perfect for him might mean something totally different.
just a thought.

Hello frankandsylviap! Regarding the crime rate, I wouldn't let that hold you back. I've been to some of the higher crime rate areas of Brazil, namely, Sao Paulo and Rio, and it is not any worse than any other major city in the world. You just have to be alert and smart, and not flaunt the potential image that you might be a tourist target or put yourself in precarious situations. Like any other major city, there are exceptions, but for me, the best part of Brazil is its people - Brazilians are very open, friendly and a whole lot of fun!!! So enjoy!!!

I'm from Brazil and It's very funny to read what you guys write about my country. I've been reading all the topics and I would say that Brazil is a wonderful place to visit. Specially if your salary is in Euro or American dollars.
We have beautiful landscapes, parties everywhere, friendly people and nice weather. There are three things braziliams use to do to have fun. Beer, soccer and women! Not in mycase of course :P ! About the crime rate Carisia is completelly right and I really liked what she wrote. About Fortaleza. I see some of you want to visit this city. I've been there many time. they have a good infrastructure for tourists, sun all year long and constant ocean breeze. They have parties every day. Not even on Mondays Fortaleza cools down. The beaches around the city are beautiful and thenightlife is full of attraction. Enjoy this paradise! Nice trip!

Damn, llemus! you don't mess around! Everytime you post, you're traveling somewhere B) ! Spread the wealth, bro!

WELCOME TO THE BOARDS- frankandsylviap, Bgirl, and Larrie2

Carisia, your tips are right on!

Bgirl, your tips and suggestions will be quite valuable here, especially since they're coming directly from Brasilia!

Folks, here's a website that may help if you're going to Rio. It's by a Backpacker from Rio. (there may be a pop-up or two)

Hey TUI, any luck on those links?

For the love of God!!!! did I take long enough or what?

most links for Fortaleza are in portuguese so I had to have girlfriend jump from site to site looking for english ones.

This one is for backpackers and has a booking engine for a couple hostels
