Hey, I'm traveling to Colombia with a buddy and had a few questions. Looking to experience the culture, have some adventure, do some adventure sports (white water rafting, trekking etc.), and definitely hit up the nightlife.

Current itinerary:

Quito to Cali
Cali
Bogota
San Gil
Cartagena
Medellin

Am I missing any must sees?
What is the safety situation like now, I've heard it is much improved?
What is the best time to visit. We're considering either February or July?
If we go in Feb., does anyone know if the Barranquilla carnival is worth going to?
