First, I plan to leave fro S. America in June for 3 months. I fly into Sao Paulo. Which would be a better route, head south through Argentina and up through peru then back down though brazil to Sao Paulo? Or the other way around? Which way does the amazon flow, dont want to be going up river. Also, is it rather easy to re-enter brazil so that I can fly home? What is the process on that? New Visa, what? Thanks!!!

the amazon flows from west to east, not north/south or south/north. i would try going from sao paulo, out of brazil then up to northern brazil in that case.

im not quite sure how the visa system works for brazil (ironic, i know), but im pretty sure it lasts for a period of time, in which you can enter (though id check at a brazilian embassy website, first).

it's 100 dollars for an american to get a brazilian visa. It's good for 180 day stay every year for five years.
