Hey new to the site and want to know if you guys can help me. My wife and I are from San Diego and we are living in Ecuador for another 10 months. In Feb we want to explore the rest of the continent a little bit. Buenos Aires and Patagonia, maybe chilean wine country, Bolivia's salt flats with the inca trail hike at the end before we bus home. What are the don't miss spots or any suggestions on keeping it cheap and sweet. Thanks in advance! Peace
CJ

In Argentina (and I hate to be repetitive.. hehehe) I'd say you can't miss: Buenos Aires, Bariloche, San Martín de los Andes, Ushuaia and Cataratas del Iguazú... ofcourse you might want to check out those things that are more appealing to you as those places are terribly far away!!
Any other question just fire away!

LOL!! At least you are one of the few who actually knows where Buenos Aires is... I had a number of different locations offered anytime I said I was from Argentina. The top two go to: (both happened in the US)
2) A haidresser who told my dad: "oohh... that place with all the cangaroos"
1) To a calssmate of mine:
Classmate: Oh, I just came from there!!
Me: Really??
Classmate: yeah, we where looking for a house, but then decided to come to Arizona instead.
Me:hold on... how did you come to Arizona??
Classemate: by car...
Me: dude.. thats very improbable....
Classmate: oh! come on... it's not that far a drive from Texas!!
The guy thought Argentina was IN Texas....

americans have among them, some of the most stupid homo sapiens in all the world, though most of them are really nice and fun people when travelling, what you get to hear inside US, its just ridiculous.
one girl when i told her that "i am from southamerica" she answered "ohh you mean from the colonies"
wtf!!?

One of my lovely Californian friends thought that Sri Langka was part of Eastern Europe, and that Borneo was in Canada.
