Hi there all, I tried to search for someone that has already posted a Itinerary like this but couldn't, what I'm looking for is some advise on the best time to start the trip and also the essentials I will be needing.

London to Rio De Janerio (I want to spend 4-5 months in South America)

Rio to Sydney (About 2 months there)

Sydney to Bangkok (I am looking at spending 6 months here in South East Asia)

Now do you guys think im spending too long in both South America and Asia, if so should I spend more time in Australia?
My main concern is the timing for the best weather, when do I leave and how long before I make a hop.
Ahh forgot to say, the trip is around a year long give or take a month or two.
I would like to try and do the Rio Carnival and also the Full moon party in Thailand

Look forward from hearing from you all

It totally sounds do-able....kinda similiar to the outline I had set-up for my RTW trip. I ended up changing it around a lot because of my brother's graduation and such, so yeah.

No matter what your out there traveling right?!

I think it sounds awesome. And by "awesome" I mean "jealousy-inspiring".

Personally, I would maybe spend less time in S.E.A. and more in Aussie, well Im not sure what your itinerary is for S.E.A. but if you wanna do it all, then yeah 6 months should be good but if you cut out say the phillipeans and indonesia then thats a long time for the mainland aisa or vice versa. Also one thing a lot of travellers have told me about long spills in aisa is they always have cut it short because after a while going without warm showers, normal toilets, clean tap water and all those other little things in life that make it easy has really gotten to them and they just wanted to get back to the western world.

Personally I love S.E.A. and wanna travel it more and I woudl love to go for months and months on end, but each man to his own. Also Australia is really a fun time I would say its like collage without the classes and homework!

morning there,

Thanks for the replies, I'm so looking forward to it now, after reading the replies I feel I may have to rework the timings,

I was going to stay 5-6 monhs in SA but to tell you the truth what else is there to do after Bolivia and Rio?? I mean I want to have a good time traveling with parties and all that but I want to see the place as well, all the landscapes and stuff but do you think 5-6 months is too long? The reason why I was only going to stay in Australia for 1-2 months only is because what do people do there? I was thinking there is not much to do or party places so I wasnt going to stop too long.
Asia was going to be my longest stay but TheWills is right, i may miss the western comforts. Now I need some help with setting the Itinery.

Help please, can someonehelp with this, tell me what i can expect from each place and how long I should spend there

There is heaps to do in South America besides Rio and Bolivia.

You have the Amazon Rain Forest, Peru (Macchu Picchu, Inca Trail), Argentina!! (Patagonia, Galciers, Buenos Aires, Mendoza), Easter Island off Chile, Galapagos off Ecuador, Hundreds of cool Islands in brazil, Salvador, Florianapolis. You could easily fill 6 months on SA alone.

And since you are in Oz, why not go to New Zealand too?

Well, you could start out all tourist like and check out Auckland and Rotorua... Then head down to the South Island. Beyond all the extreme-sports stuff on tap (bungy jumping, zorbing, skydiving, jetboats, etc. etc. etc.) Milford Sound should be one of the natural wonders of the world, and there are glaciers to check out.. Queenstown makes a great base for all that.
