First I would like to thank you all, this site has been so helpful. Ten times more helpful than my LP. I don’t think I’d be anywhere near this far along in the planning stage if it weren’t for this awesome site!
Alright, here is my tentative itinerary. I plan on going Feb 2 – May 30, I would like to go push that back but I have two wedding that I will be an usher in this summer one in June and one in July. I have budgeted $60 a day for Eastern Europe and $80 for Western. I plan on staying in dorms, and probably eat out once every other day or so. I also plan on doing a fair amount of drinking but nothing insane. I will have a 2 Month consecutive day Eurail pass and another $400 set aside for tickets in Eastern Europe. I haven’t purchased anything yet so I would appreciate any input. Well here go’s…
2 Months Eastern Europe:
Greece (Athens, and somewhere else-I’m open to suggestions)
Turkey (Istanbul)
Bulgaria (Plovdiv, Sofia, and Varna)
Romania (Bucharest, Brasov, and Sighisoara)
Hungary (Budapest, and again I’d love suggestion of elsewhere)
Slovakia (Bratislava)
Czech Republic (Prague, Cesky Krumlov, and maybe Brno)
Poland (Krakow, Warsaw, and if time Gdansk)
End Eastern Europe, then begins a 2 Month whirlwind tour of Western Europe:
I‘ll probably make a circle starting and ending in Berlin. Since I’ll have a 2 months consecutive day pass, I’m not as worried about having my route planned. If I end up backtracking it’s alright. That said this is the circle of cities I plan to make:
Berlin
Amsterdam
Paris
Barcelona
Florence
Rome
Venice
Vienna
Somewhere in Switzerland
Munich
Anywhere I feel like stopping at in between
Too much in too short a time? Too little? Please criticize! Also is my budget sound? Originally I was going to budget a lot more per day but after reading on here that still seems like more than most people are budgeting.
