I'm leaving on my first ever trip to europe on April 28th. I will be traveling alone and hope to meet poeple as I go. I am very excited!! Here is my travel itinerary:

Place, number of days

Solid
London 4
Amsterdam 5
Antwerp 2
Brussels 2
Paris 5
San Sebastian 3
Madrid 6
Barcelona 4

Not as Solid
Nice/Cannes/Monaco 7
Venice 2
Florence 3
Rome 4
Capri 3
Corfu 3
Athens 3
Greek Isles 3

I booked hostels for the first section, but figure i can always move or cancel them and eat the 10% fee if need be. I am very open to suggestions for the second section, as I have nothing booked. Let me know what you think.

which greek islands are you planning on visiting? i have been to Rhodes, Crete and Cyprus a few times they are all beautiful places if you can avoid the height of the summer and the 18-30 holidays. Dont get me wrong i like a few beers but being British and visiting these places in the summer kind of gives us a bad name ha ha.

However seeing as you are going early in the season i think you will have a blast.

Welcome to the boards!

Welcome aboard!

I would flip-flop or compromise the number of days in Barcelona/Madrid. I'm biased, because Barcelona is one of my favorite cities in the world, but I'm sure other people wouldn't disagree - you really should have a minimum of 5 days in Barcelona to get the awesome feel and experience that is Cataluniya.

For the greek islands, I was thinking maybe mykonos, crete, and santorini, but I will really have to see wha time I have. I would be there the end of June... would it be crazy packed then?? Not that I mind a big party...

As for Madrid, the reason for the long stay is that I know a bunch of people over there, so I wanted to stay a little longer to visit them. However, I could cut a day off of Madrid/add one to Barcelona... I'll probably make that call when I'm actually over there.

13 days and counting... getting really excited!!!

I would cut 2 days off Athens and 1 off Venice...those are really better as *one day* places to visit IMO and I'd add to the Greek Isles. Mykonos is fun and Ios I've heard is really good as well...I think the amount of time you have for Barcelona is good, if not less time actually...personally 5 days was a LOT of time in Madrid for me, but then again I tend to go crazy and walk all day seeing all the sights in like 1 day/2 max. But still, there's 3 day trips you can take from Madrid such as to Granada, Segovia and Toledo so I'd keep the extra days in Madrid as opposed to Barcelona, even though Barcelona does rock...(Gaudi is pretty much my idol, even though I dont want to become an architect at all...)
But your trip sounds amazing! Have fun!
