Hi everyone, I'm booking this trip in about a week, I can't wait! Just wanted any comments, suggestions, or advice on my route. Anything is very much appreciated, especially tips on things to do on the cheap!

18th Sept: London - Miami (7 nights)
25th Sept: Miami - Los Angeles (3 nights)
28th Sept: Los Angeles - San Francisco (3 nights)
1st Oct: San Francisco - San Diego (3 nights)
4th Oct: San Diego - Las Vegas (2 nights)
6th Oct: Las Vegas - Los Angeles (1 night) - need to fly out of LA.
7th Oct: Los Angeles - Nadi, Fiji (7 nights - not staying in Nadi the whole time)
14th Oct: Nadi - Auckland (28 days to travel to Christchurch with Kiwi Experience)
11th Nov: Christchurch - Melbourne (2 nights)
13th Nov: Melbourne - Sydney (28 days to travel up the East coast to Cairns with Greyhound)
11th Dec: Cairns - Kuala Lumpur (5 nights)
16th Dec: Kuala Lumpur - Hong Kong (5 nights)
21st Dec: Hong Kong - London = home!

So, there where we have it. Unless otherwise specified, all travel between cities is by plane, as we didn't want to spend too much time on buses/trains, and in some cases it works out cheaper.

Would love to spend more time in some places, but unfortunately we need to be back before Christmas!

Solid work... I'm soooo envious. (Except for the LA part)

I don't really know what to expect of LA, to be honest. But I figured, seeing as we're over that side of the country, we may as well check it out!

Oh, who am I trying to kid, I just want to try and spot a celebrity, haha.

Hahah.. actually, it's not that bad. I'm just jaded after having lived there for too long, and now I've rejoined the Northern side of the California Civil War.

If you want to spot celebrities without spending like one, try hanging out in Westwood Village (there's a very cheap, tasty bakery there called Diddy Riese) or any of the coffeehouses near the Warner Bros. studios in Burbank. Celebs abound.

Looks good! Personally I'd spend a little less time in the US and a little more in Asia (or Africa!)....but that's just me
