My friend traveled alone to Europe in 2003 and she's been helping me plan my trip. I've been looking at all her pictures and postcards where she's stayed and I have a rough idea of where I'd like to go. I still need to do alot of research on the cities and my trip plan, but here's a list of places I'd like to go.

London
Westminster
Nice
Monaco
Paris
Lauterbrunnen
Geneva
Fussen
Amsterdam
Munich
Torino
Cinque Terre
Venice
Rome
Pompei
Sorrento
Island of Capri
Brandisi
Athens
Santorini
Dubrovnik
Bol
Salsburg
Vienna
Prague
Cesky Krumlov
Berlin
Interlaken
Milan

I'm going for two months from July to September. What do you think? Would $4000 be enough for this?

If you're going to Rome, make sure to go to Florence as well. From a LOT of people I've heard it's just as great, less touristy/crowded and I keep hearing "favorite city in the world" mentioned with it a bunch :)

whoa thats a lot of places....the majority of us adopt the 3 day rule here so 29 x 3 = 81 days so i would say this was over your 2 month allowance however i have noticed that you have put westmister and london which i am assuming you mean the same place.

Does your funds include getting here to Europe?

yeah after i put down westminster, i knew i made a mistake and couldn't find the edit button.

as for my funds, i have about $8000 in the bank. i don't know if my parents will buy the ticket as my grad present or if i will be paying. as of right now, i think i will be bringing about $5000. is that enough for 2 months? i guess my list is a little bit too much, so i'm giong to have to figure out what i should take out. i think i will be spending about a week or so in italy and if i don't have time, i probably won't go to greece because apparently, it's a very long ferry ride to get to athens.

it's seems like there's too many places for a 2 months trip you might wanna cut it down a bit, as well leave room for unexpected detours or inconviniences as well. :) good luck!

a very solid list..a little long but hey. who doesn't wanna see it all!

i'm currently in the process of tweaking my itinerary to cut down a few cities and to slow the pace down

Yeah, there does seem to be a lot of places in that list for a 2 month trip. However, a few of those places are day trip places, so maybe you could get to most of them. $5000 for 8 weeks is definately possible, you'll just have to watch where you eat and how many drinks you buy at the pubs. When i was over there i was spending around $1000AUD a week, but i wasn't really in budget mode at that point and still had a lot of money.....and now i have none :blink2:

Yea, I don't think you'll have much fun doing that many places in that amount of time on that much money. Pick whats most important to you and drop some places, or add more time/money.
