Hey Everyone!

Yellow lines mean go go go - dashed means day trip.
Full red circle means longer stay - red ring means 1 night or less.

The blue line...well...that's wishful thinking! I'd love to fit in 2-3 days of hiking in the Pyrennes but I think that's overboard. Heck, the whole North - North West would be awesome...

good with Illustrator - not so good with posting an image on a website! sigh...hopefully it worked out ok.

Start : Boston (July 23)
Madrid (3 + 2 Day Trips to Segovia & Toledo)
Salamanca (3 Days via day trip to Avila)
Caceres (2 Days)
Guadalupe (1 Day)
Trujillo (1 Day)
Merida (2 Days)
Lisbon (4 Days via Badajoz)
Lagos (2 Days)
Seville (3 Days)
Cadiz (2 Days)
Gibraltar (1 Day)
Malaga (2 Days)
Granada (1 Day)
Cordoba (1 Day)
Valencia (2 Days)
Barcelona (5 Days)

End: Boston (August 30)

I'm not sure if doing all the 1 Day stays from Cadiz will be worthwhile. Hopefully, we haven't overdone it. Thanks for any feedback!

Jovan

Nice work!

I've only done Catalonia, so the one recommendation I can make is stopping in Tarragona on the way to Barcelona. It's a beautiful place, especially the Old City area, and right by the beach there's a ruin of an old Roman amphitheatre.

Of course, you've got 5 days in Barca, so you can easily daytrip there, and Sitges, or go the other way to Costa Brava. Great way to end the trip, summer on the Mediterranean. Drink plenty of sangria and eat lots of tapas for us!

I cannot see your image properly and the advanced color coding scheme might be too much for my brain to process right now but based on just the number of days you have allocated for each place, I say it looks good. I have been nearly everywhere on your list so feel free to ask about whatever.

My only real suggestion is to either allow only 1 day in Malaga or skip it completely and take that day/those days and add them onto Granada. Granada is an incredible place; truly beautiful with the Alhambra which you cannot skip and should allow a full day for and a whole Middle Eastern feel which contrasts nicely with the Spanish/European thing. Also, it is probably the only place in Spain where tapas are free when you buy a drink! Malaga is not a bad place but the beach is dirty and not so great and overall there is not much to see or do there. I spent a day there just to meet a friend and then high tailed it out of there to someplace nicer.

I agree with u2fan - Allow 2 days for Granada, that is one for the Alhambra and another to explore the city (old and new town). Don't forget the Alhambra is so popular that you may have to book your ticket in advance. This is because they have limits on the number of people that can pass through in one day.

Also, please put a red ring around Sintra just out of Lisboa. You will thank me later!

Thanks guys - Just bought my tickets so i'm feeling nutso even though its like four months away Sintra's been circled annnnnd I ousted Malaga and gave an extra day to Granada n Marbella - will be stopping through Tarragona on way to Barcelona - all of these suggestions were great!

OZm8, you know how far in advance we can book the Alhambra?

Oh and U2fan, I'll work on a long list of questions for you - im sure you're thrilled

Wow! Nice plans. Too bad you won't be in Spain for the running of the bulls! There are several of us going. I take it you really like Spain?!?!
