For my trip this summer, these are the places I want to see. Ireland, Amsterdam, Germany, Spain, Czech Rep, Greece, and Italy. I know some are far from others, but I want to see them in the close to 2 months I will be there. What order should I go in? I will be over there for 49 days. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thank you,

Mike

Well, do you know which way you are going in? Where are you traveling from? The way I'm planning my trip: I start in Madrid, since I'm flying in from Buenos Aires, and the cheapest flights go to Madrid... and the price difference to, for example, London or Paris, are quiet signifficant.

your best bet is to talk to a travel agent! most places run different prices and dates are subject to availability! theyll sort it all for you go for STA if you can!!!!

I am now thinking of flying into Athens, Greece. Maybe working my way up to the Czech Republic, down to Italy, then to Spain, then up to Germany, then over to Amsterdam, then to Dublin. I will end my trip in Dublin I suppose.

I agree with florencia, let the price of your airline ticket decide where you start/finish. There are lots of low-cost European carriers like easyjet, ryanair, and so on. You can use those for the longer legs, and buses or trains for the shorter ones. Of course, the only problem is that once you buy an airline ticket, it kind of "locks in" a portion of your itinerary.

You can still be flexible on the rest, thoug, just knowing you have to be in Prague by such and such date, etc....

What they said, but if you are flying into Greece than the most time efficient would probably be: Greece, Czech, Germany, A-dam, Dublin, Spain, Italy. Alternative is Greece, ferry to Italy, train (or a much faster plane) to spain, plane to Dublin, plane/ferry to A-dam, train to Germany, train to Czech. The last one actually seems to make more sense. That's just my thinking though. By the way inter-european flights on easy jet are way cheap.

Thanks guys. I'm trying to plan my stay around the running of the bulls in July. I heard there is a TPUNK meet-up, and I would really like to be a part of it.

I'm doing a similar route. We got a really good special on our airfare that we weren't able to open-jaw, so we're going in and out of London.

From London, we're flying RyanAir (at 1p+tax) to Barcelona, before heading to Marseille, then Paris, Brussels, Brugge, A-dam, Berlin, Warsaw, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Zagreb, Ljub., into Italy for a few places then across on the ferry to Athens.

The only drama with that is we're not sure if the people that run the ferries between Italy and Greece that are included in the Eurorail run in late winter/early spring.
