Central America - 4 months
If anyone is in Central America from Dec-Apr let me know. Maybe we can meet up!
The plan: Arriving in Guatemala Dec 11, Spanish school for 6 weeks in Xela (though i may spend xmas in El Salvador since I have a friend there) , and then traveling the rest of Central America all the way down to Panama City where I will fly out on April 8. I'm excited to avoid the rest of winter and hopefully will pick up some spanish because right now I know next to nothing! |
Sweet! You'll love it down there:cheers:

I¨m in Guatemala right now!
I don´t really have my itinerary set in stone. I am going to go to spanish school in Todos Santos for a month i think... then travel around guatemala a bit more and head down all the way to panama, probably sail across to colombia at the end of march, but who knows at this point! |
^ cool I'll get in touch with ya when I arrive there. Maybe we will be in the same town at one point and can meet up.

I'm flying into Mexico in february and making my way down to Panama where I'll cross into South America. I plan on posting a separate post actually in a few weeks with my whole itinerary and everything but I should be in Costa Rica area around April...

Sounds like so much fun! I think learning Spanish is extremely important in central america..especially outside of the big cities. I encountered very few people who spoke English anywhere close to fluent.
I just posted something in the language forum about this..but make sure you know how to pronounce their words correctly and brush up on slang..so you know you're not accidently asking for drugs :p I loved Costa Rica..I went along the Pacific coast (jaco, quepos, etc) there are lots of great beaches there for surfing |
Sounds awesome, I could potentially be in Belize for spring break March 13th - 20th!

If you want to brave Colombia, Jill, I am going to be there from appx the 20th to the 29th of March... There's a boat from Panama City to Cartagenia but I think it's like $200
