Speaking of 0% from Hostels, I wonder if there's a way to get placement in them... this board certainly sends enough business their way ...

Wow I thought i had posted in this topic but apparently not...

I was looking online for a Canadian version of Thegumtree.com which is a board for aussies in the Uk and other places with rooms for rent, jobs and things for sale...

I stumbled across this place while searching for that... and never looked back.

wow old thread! Jake had to find it for me...props to jake

My own discovery came from when i googled "traveling and backpacks" or something to that nature. TP was about the third site under the search results. I spent five hours reading Travelpunk that night. Loved the site ever since!

I was posting on some progressive rock/metal forums about travel (yeah, I know the two don't go together very well, but whatever - I bring travel into everything ) and someone recommended me this site. Unfortunately I don't remember who it was.

Is it bad that I was going to repost on here until I realized that I already did. Damn those brain cells!

I found TPunk when I was desperately yearning to travel somewhere. When I found the site, it seriously only had 12 members. I used the site a little and then kind of forgot about it. When I remembered it and came back it had TONS of members. It grew really quickly - and still does all the time!!

Now that the site reached the 10 thousandth tpunk , I thought I'd relaunch this thread.

I think I actually made a mistake when I answered the poll. I said through a search engine, but it was in fact via a link given in another travelsite. Can't remember which one, it's been five years already !
