Default HI Point Loma, San Diego, CA

This was one of my favourite hostels in my entire trip, it was just so nicely set up, and it was well run, and everything was just right.

There was loads of communal space, a huge kitchen, with individual food boxes to keep all your stuff in. The kitchen was well equipped, and they mixed up pancake mix every morning for you, and had little extras like chocolate chips and jam, etc.

There was a ton of info up on the walls about the local area, which came in really handy. There were bus timetables, and there was always someone to help you out with which buses to take, etc. They had internet access too, but it was really refreshing to actually be told not to bother paying for their internet, and to go round the corner to the library for free net access!

The dorms were a decent size, with sturdy, wooden bunks, 6 beds to a room, with a huge locker for each person. The beds had lovely duvets with nice covers on them, and proper thick pillows. Just like my bed at home really!

The bathrooms had plenty of sinks, toilets, and showers, and were always clean.

They organised lots of trips, like guided walks round the city, trips to Tijuana, etc. Two or three nights a week they would have a $5 dinner, with stuff like pasta, meat sauce, salad and garlic bread. Such a bargain!

The location was good, it was about a 25 minute walk to the beach, which was a really nice walk, gave us a chance to enjoy the sunshine. It's about 20 minutes by bus to the city, and that was pretty cheap.

Beds here cost $17 US a night while we were there, and that was such good value for money. I would definitely stay here again, and I strongly recommend that you stay here too!!

Heck, I have about a million more of these things to write up at some stage! I may get totally bored though, so it'll take forever!

Thankyou, by the way :D
