hey so i'm headed up to montreal later this summer with a friend or 2, lucky for us only a 6 hour car trip, yay! i haven't been there for awhile and last time i had some pals that had a flat just south of Mount Royal on Rue Sainte Catherine, unfortunately they are out of the country and i can't get a key. So anyone know of any fun hostels to stay at?

Hi darkvelveteyes,

I live in Montreal but only until this Friday ! I've never stayed in a hostel here but can give you this link to help you find a good place. I did check before writing this post and one or two hotels might not be central enough. Just send me a private message if you're not sure.

There is one on Mount-Royal Street, that's in the heart of the trendy artistic quarter of the town. Very much alive, and a few minutes away by metro from downtown. If you don't fear living in the middle of the french area... we don't bite you know...

hehe, i never fear the french or living near or with them, my ex is french, thats the only thing i have against them...i prefer a more artsy area to stay, so i'll see if i could find something possibly on Mount Royal.

thnx though
