AM heading to Miami late next week for the final 5 nights of our 11 week trip! sad to be going but happy to be seeing all our family and friends - wow i never thought missing them all would be so much on my mind -

not sure where to stay in miami, havent heard to much good stuff about miami, - meant to be a bit expensive and for want of a bettr word skanky?~ - sorr if that offends anyone but basically sums up what we have heard
JUst wandering is there a cheap place to stay with easy access to beach and the airport?
Is the beaches worth going to?
Just need some advice and tips if possible
