Welcome to Travelpunk, Eleonora!
Venice, in my opinion, is the most beautiful city in the world. So, it is worthwhile dream. My suggestion is to plan your trip in the off season. Do not go in the summer (or even late spring or early fall), as there will be big crowds and prices will be more expensive.
In the meantime, go to the websites of all the airlines that you can find that fly to Italy. Sign up for their e-mail savers list. They will send you an e-mail every few days or week with sales they are having, and keep an eye on the flights to Italy. If you see a fare that is affordable for you, then grab it immediately. If not, then simply note the fares, and keep watching. It will give you an idea of what prices you can expect to pay.
Next, get a few guidebooks on Italy and check out places to stay. Go online and to the various hostel booking engines (including the one right here on travelpunk!) and doublecheck prices. If you see a place that is praised by all of the guidebooks, and you see it for a good price online, book it (assuming you've already got your plane tickets booked). Also check out the thread here on travelpunk recommending (or warning against) hostels.
Honestly, most people do not go on their dream trips because they simply never get around to doing the work it takes to book it. They put it off, put it off, say they can't go now because of one reason or another, until they wake up one day and realize years have gone by and they haven't gone anywhere.
You simply have to do it. Force yourself, don't let anything that might come up prevent you from planning it.
Good luck, and feel free to ask more questions! Oh, and also, feel free to go on the Eastern Europe part of the Where ya Going? section and tell us about Belarus! We'd love to hear more about it...
