Nightlife Fun in Italy!?! Ideas? Help!
Hey all! I'm leaving for Italy in a few months with a friend, and we really love to party. We live in Austin, TX so night clubs, frat parties, and bars are pretty much our normal routine. I tried searching a few discos/dance clubs in Italy but had little luck. =(
Does anyone have any idea of fun nightlife things to do in Italy? Hopefully places where drinking, dancing, smoking, etc. occurs and preferably around the Roma/Napoli area, but anywhere would do! =)
Thanks so much!

well if you REALLY wanna party, you'd head to Ibiza which is a short plane ride from Italy A maaaad amount of Italians go to Ibiza.
But more importantly, partying in Italy, Euro-style, will be different than partying in the USA. I mean Italians party as wild as Americans, but lets just say the frat-party style chugfest is not their thing... its not better or worse, but different the worth experiencing.
The only real different thing about Europe and Italy is style of music, where techno, house, trance are the main beats pumping outta club... but don't get me wrong, when you're there, and in the moment, those beats are SICK.
I sorry I can't help with specific locations, but just ask around when you get there. That, or plan to go there during a specific Music Festival.

Seems to me when I travel, I've had a lot of good luck asking folks at the hostel where I'm staying where a good place to party is (and can often find places that have drink specials cos they're linked with the hostel, etc) or you can ask hostel roommates or folks in common areas, someone will tell you where the fun is.

First off, welcome to the boards. It is always good to have another Texan here . Italy is NOTHING like Austin. You can't even begin to compare the differences in the night life scene. I have not been to southern Italy so I cannot advise you there. I have heard that Napels (Napoli) is over-run with pickpocketers.

Thanks for all the help!
I definitely planned on flying to Ibiza! So i'm super excited to check that out!
I'll try and ask around to see if anyone had any advice on places to check out! Great idea.
Yay Texas! Lol. Yes I love Austin, especially the nightlife, and when I was in Italy a few years ago I was in a major culture shock lol. But hopefully I'll find some fun Italian things to do :D
Sorry for the late reply by the way!

If you go to Ibiza you MUST go to Bora Bora, the famous beach bar/club that starts the party at 5-6pm and goes until midnight, then everyone goes clubbing
And it gets pretty raunchy at 6pm, I must say

In Rome the area called Testaccio is a good place for clubs. Trastevere (the area by the river) is a good area to find restaurants and bars. Keep in mind that people in Italy don't go out till late (around 12) but many places stay open all night long.
