The four most important words you will need in your travels over seas

Hello, Thank You, and Good Bye

It may seem like a trivial thing, but just taking the time to learn these three words could be the difference between you eating bread and water for dinner on he step of your hostel, or eating at someone’s house that you were polite to.

Here are these phrases in a few different languages.

Italian
Hello: Buon giorno( bwohn djor-noh)
Thank You: Grazie ( grah-tzyeh)
Good Bye: Arrivederci (ah ree-vay-dehr chee)
Toilet il gabinetto ((eel ga-bee-naytoh)

Greek

Hello: Yia sou (yeea-sou)
Thank You: Efhaceesta (ef-kah-ree-stoh)
Good Bye: Anteeo (an-tee-o)
Toilet: Tovaleta (tova-le-ta)
Finnish
Hello: Hei (hey)
Thank You: Kiitos (kee-tos)
Good Bye: Nakemiin (na-ke-meen)
Toilet: vessa (ves-sa)
Romanian
Hello: Salut (sah-loot)
Thank You: Multumesc (mooltsoomesk)
Good Bye : La revedere (la revedere)
Toilet: toaleta (tohaleta)
Portuguese
Hello: Ola (oh-la)
Thank You: Muito obrigada (muy-toh ob-ree-gah-doo)
Good Bye: Adeus (ah-day-ush)
Toilet: a casa be banho (ah-kah-zah de bahn-yoo)
Arabic
Hello: Ahlan (ah-lan)
Thank You: Shukran (shu-kran)
Good Bye: Ma’a el salama (ma’a sal-a-ma)
Toilet: Twalit (toy let)
Dutch
Hello: Hallo (ha-loh)
Thank You: Dank U (dahnk-ew)
Good Bye: Goeden dag (hoo-dun dahk)

French
Hello: Bonjour (bohn-zhoor)
Thank You: Merci (mayr-see)
Good Bye: Au revoir (aw-ruh-vwahr)
Toilet: les toilettes (les twa-let)

Spanish

Hello: Hola! (ho-la)
Thank You: Gracias (grah-thee-ahss)
Good Bye : Adios (ah-dyohss)
Toilet: el bana (el ba-no)
I will do somemore if people find these useful B) :D

And sticking to the polite theme, when you meet someone, take your sunglasses off, it will put people at ease by even making such a small gesture as that, it shows that you have enough respect for the person to look at them with your eyes and not through sunglasses.

Also, learning how to say "where´s the bathroom" in any given language will prove to be quite helpful too!

Good tips! The only person that doesn´t need to take off his sunglasses is... this guy-------> B)
