Learning the basics...
of different languages!
I am hoping to print out how to say
-please
-thank you
-where is ...
-how much does it cost...
-can i please have...
etc.
for most european countries. I was going to make a spreadsheet and I can share it with everyone. Does anyone know a website or thread with this info?

Or if you speak French, Spanish, Italian, German, etc etc post the answers here, then I will put it all together for us all as a quick reference guide

You can do some quick translations for the basic words and phrases- here.
Not sure about the accuracy of writing a whole paragraph in there, but the basics should work fine.
I love the spread sheet idea  !

I love dictionary.com! The thesauraus is great for writing essays I haven't tried the translator though, thank you! I usually use www.freetranslation.com.

Spanish
-please: por favor
-thank you: gracias
-where is ... : ¿Dónde está... ?
-how much does it cost... : ¿Cuánto cuesta?
-can i please have... : ¿Puedo por favor tener....? (it's a bit vague... depends on what you want to have....)

Yup! Impulse trip! Buuuuttt ridiculous me, I am going to the UAE first and now I need a new passport because of Israel. I let the Israelis stamp my passport FOUR times!

Lol yeah, the Israeli stamps might be an issue. 
When are you heading out? Enjoy my homeland, eat lots of tasty local food on my behalf and have a blast while you're there.

You know I'm going to EAT everything I can get my paws on while I'm there.  I head out May 16th, spend one day riding camels in Abu Dhabi, more time back on a plane, getting harassed because I smell like I rode camels and didn't shower, and then I'll be in KL on the 18th!! Any tips?

Hah, camels are great and have the best expressions.

Just wanted to say thanks for some of the info on this thread. The first site has come in handy for getting a quick easy grasp on a few of the words you can get by on.
I'm headed RTW this fall/winter and will be covering a lot of different countries. Mainly in asia and SEA. Language is one of the biggest worries I've had. Just from experience as long as your able to put in an effort and come close most people are very happy to help....and it usually is a good ice breaker when talking to people because its so funny how bad you can butcher thier language.
