Just want to say hey to all of you true travelers out there. You all know who you are.
I am looking to meet some new people who have been out in the open and know what life is like living out of a back pack. I would love to hear some stories and see how long you really think you could last living like that.
I really have a dream to make traveling my life and career, sound crazy? well fuck! I am!
SO anyways, talk to me. Let me know some things about you.
I am also new to this website, so a little help on the whole emailing thing and what not would be nice.
ciao

I dont really think they rock all that much. They kind of irritate me now after working in a hostel for six weeks. I love the people here of course, and every now and then a cool one comes through, but by and large I am terrifically un-impressed.. A lot of people strike me as having just a little more ambition than the potsmoking loser who lounges away their young adult life on their parents couch. The diff is the backpacker bought a plane ticket. I guess I just feel like there are better ways to see the world than boozing (and smoking and fucking and god only knows what else) your way through 15 european cities in 7 days and not really remembering most of them. Sorry. Venting a bit. I think I'll go work in my book now.

I feel ya steph. I am way more all about the packers that take their time and learn the language/culture of where there are at instead of stickin their heads in beer 24/7
Cheers to the sophisticated backpackers!

The alternative is to come to Scotland, where beer is the culture.

Yea I've always taken to backpackers who love the outdoors and like to get off the beaten path and such more than anything else. They seem to have more respect for learning and appreciation of their surroundings and what a place is all about. Cheers to those folks

I think it's good to mix it all up. I travel to pick up bits of culture, enjoy the natural wonders of each country, I always learn the language before I go anywhere, and I make sure I hit every party spot and drink as much as humanly possible.
Hell, the drinking helps the foreign languages come out better. I'm a whiz at French and Spanish after I've had enough vin or cerveza.
I guess that makes me a travelangualcoholic.
