Default it's been a while

hey gang,

it's been a long time since i've posted to the site, but i'm not as busy these days so i figured i'd come back and let you know about my recent travels.

my fiance and i headed to ireland last summer to chill out, work a little bit for a friend of mine and travel around. it was wild! we got these shitty window washing jobs. tough work but it helped pay for a lot of stuff. we spent almost three months in europe. we ended up finding a posting online for a room available in a southern suburb of dublin and grabbed it right away, which turned out to be the best house in the world. all the folks living there were our age and we became amazing friends. we even took a weekend trip with a couple of them to edinburgh near the end of our vacation.

we got to see some great stuff all around ireland, like the Giant's Causeway in northern ireland, cork, blarney castle, the ring of kerry, killarney, the aran islands and of course dublin. but we also went to edinburgh (we actually saw sean connery there on our first night. what are the chances?). we also did a two week trip that saw us visiting four countries. here's the breakdown of that crazy trip:

london - 3 days
berlin - 2 days
krakow - 1 day
tarnow - 3 days
prague - 3 days

the coolest was meeting my fiance's grandmother, aunt and uncle in southern poland. naturally we saw all the major sights that everyone sees when they go to these cities and had a great time. but i don't want to drag this out, so if anyone wants any more specific details (or tips about certain places) let me know.

i also went out to newfoundland at the end of september with a friend for about a week. amazingly gorgeous place. so i've been to the most eastern point of north america. (when i was a kid i went to the most southern point of canada, so maybe i'll eventually make it to the most western and the most northern, but probably when it's summertime).

holy crap that's a long post so i'll shut up now. glad to be back. cheers,

Great to see you back, bro! Sounds like you and your fiance had a great time with tons of experiences you'll never forget.

And that house in southern Dublin. How serendipitous was that, eh?! Good job on scoring that !

Sounds like you've been having some adventures! I wish I had a significant other I could travel with.

Good to see you back, and feel free to spill the knowledge you must have amassed on your wanderings.

Oh this is awesome! I am planning to go work in Dublin when I run out of money after some backpacking. How much did you pay for rent? Any advice about living in and travelling around Ireland would be lovely. I've been there once, caught a bus from Dublin to Athlone. How did you get around the country?
Anyway, sounds like you had a great time!

Hey, welcome back aboard !

I too would love to read more of your experience and tips on Ireland. If you have time you could write a report and post it in the Western Europe forum ?
