I'm with you, Adam.
Just about everything you said about yourself applies to me too (except I don't live in America, but I'm damn proud to be American!)...so keep being yourself, even if it means sometimes people take it the wrong way.
Everyone has to realize that if you say something that someone else interprets differently than you intended it, it doesn't matter. The onus is on you for saying it. That never means you have to apologize, but just realize that you dont' get to dictate how other people interpret things...like perhaps if someone posts something that can be interpreted as an insult against America, but then claims "I was only being facetious."
I make jokes all the time - and to anyone who gets offended at my jokes, that's fine. I understand how some can get offended. My response is that for me, everything is humor so I don't actually mean half the things I say...but that doesn't mean they need to take it the same way.

Apology? Feh, no need for that, this is the InnerWeb! :D
Hell, for all you guys know I could be 8 feet tall, bulletproof and hung like a Humpback Whale! It doesn't matter if you piss folks off now and then, because the ones that take offense at InnerWeb arguments are the same folks that get upset if you look at 'em funny.
Respect each others opinions, respectfully disagree, and avoid the flamewars.
Chill, relax, everyone's got their opinions, so don't blow a gasket.
(for the record, I am not 8 feet tall or bulletproof.)

I make no guarantee that any apologies can be accepted without the express written, not oral, consent of at least a 2/3's majority of the people that make up the board of trustees for said corporation.
Oh, and Jake, America is the best blow you will ever have, so enjoy it buddy.

Dude, your opinions never really meant that much to anyone anyway, i don't even think people read them, i know i don't....
HAHAHA j/k...well i thought it was funny
Meh, i think that everyone knows when you're joking and when you're not, she's right mate. That's the problem with msg boards, it's kinda difficult to express sarcasm or the joking nature of a post in text, emoticons can only go so far.
