Germany and Belgium are awesome! I am glad to help if anyway I can and I am sure you can find lots of help on the Netherlands-I have never been to Luxembourg but I think some people here have.

Lots to see in Germany, I loved Dresden. Also don't skip Brugge in Belgium.

Welcome to the boards! 
Germany was my favorite place I think I've ever been! I loved Heidelberg and Munich the best. Those are must-sees. I also visited Stuttgart, Koln, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, and Dortmund. Very cool. I flew into Frankfurt, it's very modern, not like you'd expect. It's a great starting point, you can hit the rail right at the airport. Koln is only an hour or so. Germany is so beautiful, you will really enjoy it.
If you make it to Munich, check out Mike's Bike Tours, you can pay 20 euros and take a half day bike tour of Munich and it was my favorite thing I did on my trip. There are many other companies but Mike's Bikes is the best.
Other quick trips from Germany... Krakow, Poland is awesome and just next door. Zurich, Switzerland is about 4 hours south on the rail from Frankfurt. I totally recommend taking the rail along the Rhine. Breathtaking.
