But this does seem to be the place to introduce myself--I'm Kris from Seattle. Nineteen, female, and glad to be here. I just graduated from college and I'm feverishly (and obsessively) planning a two-month European extravaganza beginning Sept. 13. I'll be in the UK for a week followed by a while in Switzerland, Austria, France, and Italy.
I'd love to meet up with anyone who's going to be over there, or to talk to anyone with stories/advice/etcetera. Email me: kswigart@gmail.com.
Good to meet you all.

Italy and Switzerland are so beautiful - highly recommend taking trains through those countries. I really want to head to Tuscany, so if you get the chance, take many pictures! Also, Swiss chocolate rocks. France is a fun country depending on where you go, so I hate to sound rude by say that the stereotypes about the smell(s) are not just stereotypes. We just went back to Lyon a couple days ago and the city is so gorgeous but sometimes you want to gag. Paris is a neat city but highly overrated (for me personally). Anyhow, that's about all I have. Good luck. How long will you be gone?

Welcome to the Boards!
As for the travels, it looks like you're gonna have fun. Best of luck! If you want to see who else is gonna be in those areas at the same time as you check out the REGISTRY forum and scope out other people's plans. Of course don't forget to post your schedule, so others can see it too.

Graduated from college at 19? Congratulations! Welcome to Travelpunk, and any questions or concerns you have can be taken care of here.
I have always wanted to go to Austria, and Italy too. From what I have read and heard they are beautiful.

my advice is to give amsterdam a chance, at first you might think it totally sucks - i did. once i got into the groove of the city though, it was great - don't miss the stedjlik museum (modern art) it's the best i've seen... eat at a nice restaurant in the jordaan too ~ AND DON'T MISS MUNICH!

Wow, thanks for the welcomes and advice.
I'm so glad I found this place! I think I've found more info here than all the other travel sites I've visited, combined.
